Pendleton County in West Virginia is home to Spruce Knob, the highest point in the state, and some of the most rugged mountain terrain to be found on the East Coast. This county offers two national forests, the Monongahela National Forest and the George Washington National Forest. Pendleton county also offers some of the best hunting and fishing in the Eastern U.S. Other major attractions in the county include Seneca Rocks or the Via Ferrata at Nelson Rocks.
