Troutville is a small town located in Botetourt County Virginia only 15 minutes away from the major city of Roanoke. Troutville is centered around the local municipal park where many kids play and the town holds festivals and events. Troutville is filled with Southern hospitality, mom-and-pop shops, and a variety of local businesses. Troutville is a stopping point for all Appalachian Trail hikers, cyclistson the Trans-America trail; both pass through the center of town.


History of Troutville VA

Troutville was settled in the late 1730s mainly from travelers from Maryland, Pennsylvania and North Carolina. In 1881 the railroad station was built and three homes occupied by John, Jim, and George Trout. Soon after in the 1890s Troutville became an important shipping center with good farming, canneries and factories. The town was established in 1956.
