Saint Paul is a small town along the banks of the Clinch River located in Russell and Wise Counties in the Southwest Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains. Saint Paul (St. Paul) always has something going on such as the Farmer’s Market, festivals, classic car shows, parades, live music, hiking, biking, the Clinch River with whitewater rafting, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, swimming, OHV Trails, and birdwatching.

History of Saint Paul VA

The earliest settlers came in the 1700s that were French immigrants escaping royal oppression and found sanctuary in Saint Paul. Two towns were formed on the Clinch River, Minneapolis and Saint Paul. Saint Paul grew and expanded more rapidly and prospered.

For a long time Saint Paul prosperity gave way to  a rowdy past of drinking, saloons, gambling, and fighting. Now there is not a sit down bar or saloon in the small town. the people of Saint Paul have embraced tourism and made it an outdoor recreational family adventure town.
