The town of Dublin is located in Pulaski county in the Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains. Dublin is the home to many things such as the New River Community College, Volvo Trucks North America, Ethan Allen Furniture, Claytor Lake State Park, the New River Airport and much more. Dublin Virginia has two state parks nearby to the town with fun and exciting outdoor recreational activities.

Claytor Lake State Park is an abundant 4500 acres and a 21 mile lake; a quick 10 minute drive from Radford and Dublin. Claytor Lake offers many activities such as swimming, camping, cabin rentals, lodges, meeting facilities for weddings, nature and history programs, a visitor center, and miles of hiking trails.


History of Dublin VA

One of the original settlers was a man named, William Preston who also constructed Smithfield Plantation. Learn about the plantation and what 19th century life was like through furniture, artifacts, and people dressed up in 19 century clothing. The plantation has as series of events and children day camps. There is also a gift shop with unique gift items.

Dublin is a community developed after a railroad station named Newbern Depot in 1854 by the Virginia and Tennessee Railroad.
