The town of Floyd is located in the Southwestern part of Virginia in Floyd county in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The town of Floyd is surrounded by mountains, valleys, ridges and small streams. Floyd is situated on the Blue Ridge Plateau with the Blue Ridge Parkway running near town and through the county fore 31 miles. Floyd offers unique lodging, restaurants, a main street, boutique shopping, The Blue Ridge Parkway, hiking, festivals, live music Fridays, and art galleries. History of Floyd VA

In the 1600s the Floyd area in Virginia was a hunting ground for the Indians. By the 1790s Eglish, German, French, Scottish and Irish immigrants settled in Floyd county. In 1896 the town was established and named after Governor John Floyd.
