Chimney Rock North Carolina is located in the center of Hickory Nut Gorge below the famous Chimney Rock Mountain and State Park. Chimney Rock Village is just 25 miles from Asheville and in Rutherford County. The 500-million-year-old rock formation and North Carolina’s highest waterfall has been visited for the last 100 years by tourists and has been featured in many major motion pictures. The Rocky Broad River flows on the edge of town and is the source of Lake Lure. Chimney Rock Village has a variety of lodging, restaurants, attractions, shops and services. The Chimney Rock State Park entrance is located within the village providing picturesque views of the area and Lake Lure, hiking trails, a gift shop, places to picnic, a 400-foot waterfall.
