The town of Homer was incorporated in 1859 and serves as the county seat of Banks County, Georgia. This small rural town is located on Old U.S. Highway 441 and close to I-85. Homer has many historic structures, including the historic courthouse built in 1863 and the historic Old Jail built c. 1880. Play golf at Hammer’s Glen, see the Ragsdale Grist Mill (also built in 1863) and visit local potter Steve Turpin.
